German wind turbine manufacturer Vestas is set to supply 42MW turbines for the first phase construction of 54MW Obrovac Zelengrad wind power plant in Croatia.
The supply contract was awarded by project developer Eko Energija, a subsidiary of European clean energy investor EnerCap Capital Partners.
In addition to the supply of 14 V90-3.0 MW turbines, the agreement includes installation and commissioning of the turbines, a VestasOnline Business SCADA system and a seven-year AOM 4000 service agreement.
Commenting on the alliance, EnerCap Capital Partners partner Alastair Hammond stated that the company is looking to continue its successful Scieki, Poland partnerships with Vestas in Croatia.
"We’re delighted to commence the construction of the Obrovac wind power plant which marks our first investment in Croatia," added Hammond.
Vestas, meanwhile, is planning to deliver the first V90-3.0 MW turbine during the first quarter of 2014.
