Isofoton, a part of the Affirma Group will build its first solar power plant in Dominican Republic, which will have a cumulative capacity of 44MW.

The project will be constructed in La Victoria, 15km from Santo Domingo at an estimated cost of $150m.

The company signed a power purchase agreement with the Government of the Dominican Republic, which signaled the start of construction work.

Isofoton’s new power plant will have a peak power output of 50.6MW and will generate 74,532.61MW/hour per year of clean energy.

Energy generated by the facility will be enough to meet the power needs of 58,411 families in the region.

The plant will offset 44,014.16 tons of CO2 emissions of per year, reports solarnovus.com.
