Sunwoda Energy, an integrated energy storage solutions provider, has entered into a significant partnership with Gryphon Energy for a 1.6 gigawatt-hour (GWh) energy storage project in Queensland, Australia.

The agreement was signed during the All-Energy Australia 2024 event.

Reputed to become one of the largest energy storage initiatives in the country, the project’s delivery, grid connection and operation are expected by 2026.

The project is expected to address the high demands for grid support and operational services, given its massive scale and complex management requirements.

To tackle these challenges, Sunwoda Energy will utilise its advanced NoahX five megawatt-hour (MWh) liquid cooling energy storage system, which includes its proprietary 314Ah cells and incorporates Reverse DC Coupling technology.

This approach will ensure the project’s high-quality delivery by providing tailored energy storage solutions.

The project is expected to support the reliability and flexibility of both state and national power grids.

The partnership between Sunwoda Energy and Gryphon Energy is aimed at jointly developing Australia’s energy storage market.

Both companies are committed to delivering safe and reliable power storage system solutions to Australian customers.

Looking ahead, both Sunwoda Energy and Gryphon Energy aim to deepen their collaboration, contributing to the sustainable development of global clean energy.

In August this year, Sunwoda Energy successfully connected a 5MW/11MWh project in New South Wales to the grid. This project, known as one of Australia’s most representative solar-storage demonstration plants, has improved the flexibility of photovoltaic generation.
