Solar manufacturer Silfab Solar has signed a supply agreement to provide Pivot Energy, an independent power producer, with 350MW of commercial photovoltaic (PV) modules.
The partnership will support Silfab to commence operations at its state-of-the-art production facility in South Carolina, US. The facility will initially produce at least 1GW of solar cells and 1.3GW of modules.
Under the agreement, Silfab will supply solar PV modules comprising high domestic content to Pivot Energy over a two-year period starting from the second quarter of this year.
Pivot Energy technical operations SVP Richard Gilker said: “Silfab is positioned to be a leader in the US manufacturing of solar cells and modules.
“The high-quality, reliable modules we are purchasing from Silfab will enable us to attain the domestic content for the projects that will use those modules.”
Pivot Energy plans to utilise these modules for developing community solar projects across the US.
