Jiangsu Seraphim Solar System has secured a supply agreement for a 246MW Ukraine solar project, developed by Ukraine’s energy group, DTEK.

CMEC is the EPC contractor while Seraphim serves as the module supplier for this project.

This PV plant will be constructed in Dnepropetrovsk in central Ukraine.

Once operational, this will bethe largest renewable energy power plant in Ukraine.

Before the end of August, the project will be installed with 246MW of Seraphim’s 330W poly modules.

Once the plant is commissioned, the project will supply electricity to over 100,0000 residents. The plant is expected to reduce annual emissions of carbon by 300,000 tonnes.

Seraphim president Polaris Li said: “Seraphim is particularly proud to be the sole module supplier for this landmark project. It rewards years of hard work and demonstrates the global recognition of Seraphim’s bankable manufacturing processes — including our reliable brand image.

“This 246MW solar power plant clearly demonstrates Ukraine’s renewable energy ambitions. We are happy to see how our high standards and professional services bring real value to our clients.”

Ukraine has set its target to increase its share of renewable energy, compared to overall power consumption, from 3.8% to 11% by 2020.

Ukraine is investing $3.4bn into solar development.

Last year, Seraphim had shipped 1.2MW of modules to Izmail, a city on the Danube river in Odessa Oblast in south-western part of Ukraine.
