These include the development of renewable energy capacity with storage solutions; the creation of on-site electrical infrastructure; the production of green ammonia alongside feasibility studies for other green hydrogen derivatives such as e-methanol, among others; and the development of water desalination capacity for agricultural use.

ENGIE CEO Catherine MacGregor said: “This partnership with OCP Group reflects a shared vision of energy transition, with an integrated and diversified approach to technological solutions. Together, we will drive the development of low-carbon energy solutions while strengthening Morocco’s industrial ecosystem.

“This collaboration will position our groups as key players in the decarbonisation of Morocco and bolster ENGIE’s presence in the country.”

These projects are integral to OCP Group’s strategy to reduce its carbon footprint and also support Morocco’s energy transition.

Alongside these industrial projects, the agreement emphasises an R&I agenda to enhance the collaboration’s competitiveness and encourage innovative solutions within the energy sector.

This collaboration between ENGIE and OCP Group is designed to address OCP Group’s energy and environmental challenges, supporting its decarbonisation strategy.

It also aligns with Morocco’s ambitious goals for an energy transition, aiming to create a more sustainable and resilient energy landscape.

Furthermore, the partnership is expected to strengthen the local industrial ecosystem, generating economic and technological benefits for the nation.
