Chinese power equipment manufacturer Yingli Green Energy (Yingli Solar) has signed a deal supply solar panels to two solar power plants in Chile, with power generating capacity of 240MW.
Both the facilities will feature 110MW of concentrated solar power (CSP) and 17.5 hours of thermal storage each.
Yingli Solar will deliver 780,000 multicrystalline utility-scale YGE 72 Cell solar panels for the projects.
Installation of the solar panels will be done in two phases at the facilities.
Yingli has completed deliveries for the first phase. Deliveries for the second phase have been scheduled to start in August.
The first of the two power projects is likely to be commissioned within mid-2016.
