The plant, which uses water from the Laguna del Maule reservoir through a 12km adduction tunnel, will have less environmental impact on the scenery, soil, vegetation, and fauna in the area.

The project’s all civil works including among others, intake, adduction tunnel, pressure pique, underground powerhouse and discharge channel will be completed in about five years and is slated to commence commercial operations in the fourth quarter of 2018.
