French company Veolia, which provides water, waste and energy management solutions, has won €€282m ($318m) worth of deals.
Of this, €122m ($137m) are new contracts while the remaining are extended contracts.
Veolia chairman and CEO Antoine Frérot said: "Winning these contracts and the Company’s growth on new thriving markets are clear evidence that our customers find in Veolia the reference partner that provides them with new solutions for the production of renewable energies, materials recovery and innovative services.
"Our Company has therefore demonstrated its ability to turn the waste of some into resources for others, by encouraging the implementation of a circular economy from waste collection to treatment and materials recovery."
Veolia secured a 12-year contract from Greater Rochefort to operate waste-to-energy plant in Echillais, southwestern France. It is scheduled to open in the 2017 and will supply 25GWh of low heat to the French Air Force’s Rochefort – Saint-Agnant Air Base (BA 721). It will also produce 28GWh of electricity that will be sold to the national grid operator EDF.
Several other contracts effective in 2015 include a seven-year contract with Greater Limoges, a five-year contract with SIDMA Cœur Pays d’Auge, and with Greater Quimper and a three-year contract with the Eure joint association for the study and treatment of household waste.
