Hilti Group’s subsidiary Unirac has secured a contract from Sunora Energy Solutions and NRG Energy to supply ground mount steel (GMS) mounting system for a solar project in Guam.
Located on the island of Inarajan, the 37.2MW solar project will provide clean energy to power around 12,000 homes every year, while offsetting about 15,000 tons of CO2 emissions.
Sunora Energy Solutions CEO John Plumlee said that Unirac is an important partner for Sunora in helping the company to achieve business strategy to bring unique solutions to large commercial, industrial and utility-grade customers.
"The system is capable of meeting our rigorous design requirements while yielding a cost competitive solution, a critical element for this project when we selected Unirac," Plumlee added.
Unirac CEO Peter Lorenz said the firm’s mission is to deliver high-quality solar solutions at the lowest total cost.
"We are privileged to join with Sunora and NRG in advancing solar energy in communities across the country and abroad," Lorenz added.
