China-based Trina Solar has formed a partnership with the Administrative Committee of the Hefei Xinzhan General Pilot Zone in the country to develop distributed generation (DG) solar power and related projects totalling up to 300MW.
The proposed projects will be located at Hefei in Anhui Province.
Trina Solar and the partner will initially develop a 30MW commercial rooftop project, the construction for which is expected to start by the second quarter this year.
The project is claimed to be one of the largest single-unit commercial rooftop projects in China.
Trina Solar chairman and CEO Jifan Gao said: "This partnership is a strong strategic fit and marks the first significant step in our journey to build on our DG solar power business this year.
"China’s ongoing efforts to promote clean energy with supportive policies and reinforcement of the DG solar power projects development have resulted in increasing awareness and recognition in the market for DG solar power projects.
