Suzlon has secured new supply contract of 105MW of wind turbines for several projects in five states of India.

The company has inked agreements with several unnamed small and mid-sized enterprises (SMEs) and public sector undertaking (PSU) clients in order to supply 50 wind turbine generators of its 2.1MW S9X product suite.

The wind turbines will be installed at several low wind speed locations in Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.

Suzlon will supply its multi-megawatt S95-90m, S97- 90m, S97-120m turbines and use its expertise to monitor the project operations.

Suzlon Group chairman Tulsi Tanti said: "We continue to have a strong focus on the Indian market as it offers a favorable renewable energy environment especially now with Government’s clear thrust on clean energy.

Last October, Suzlon unveiled plans to develop 2,000MW of new wind energy projects in Madhya Pradesh over the next five years.
