Good Energy has formed a partnership with the Danish group Dong Energy that will enable it to source offshore wind power for the first time to its customers.
With this agreement, Good Energy will receive 12% of the output from 210MW capacity Westermost Rough Wind Farm located in the North Sea to provide renewable power to nearly 26,000 average homes.
Westermost Rough Wind Farm is located around five miles off the Yorkshire coast.
It comprises 35 Siemens 6MW turbines each varying a height of 177m from sea level.
Good Energy founder and chief executive Juliet Davenport said: “We’re delighted to be working with DONG Energy to bring offshore wind power to our customers for the first time.
“This agreement will help us meet ever-increasing demand for 100% renewable electricity as our customer base continues to grow.

Good Energy also intends to increase the volume of power purchased from Dong overtime.

Wiltshire-based renewable energy company, Good Energy, owns and operates two onshore wind farms and seven solar farms.
It purchases power from more than 1,000 independent renewable generators located across the UK.
