An India-based renewable energy firm Enrich Energy has secured approval for setting up a 60MW solar power project in Telangana, a newly created state of India.

The project will come up under ‘Solar Park Concept’.

The financial details of the project are yet to be disclosed.

This project will, however, help the state in overcominge severe power crunch due to lack of sufficient supply of quality coal.

The state’s transmission corporation has issued a `Letter of Intent’ to the renewable company for setting up the plant under the power purchase agreement at a preferential tariff.

Enrich Energy Kanchal in a statement noted, "We at Enrich Energy are committed towards developing the renewable energy sector in India and are happy to partner with the government of Telangana in their clean energy initiative."

Enrich has constructed a private Solar Park at a single site in the state of Maharashtra with an installed capacity of 40MW.

The firm is presently building two projects – of 25MW and 50MW in the states of Maharashtra and Gujarat, respectively

Once the development of the latest project is completed, Enrich will have an installed capacity of 175MW of solar power.

Further, the firms intends to offer new solutions for small scale retail investors who want to establish private projects with an installed capacity of 1MW.
