Energia Renewables has commissioned its new 95MW Meenadreen wind firm situated in Donegal, Ireland.

The firm is equipped with turbines supplied by Nordex Group.

Nordex has achieved a milestone of having 529MW of installed capacity in Ireland with the commissioning of the new wind firm.

The company has been able to capture around 20% market share in the country.

Last year, Nordex Group secured an order from Irish wind farm developer Invis Energy to provide 18 N90/2500 turbines for the Slievecallan West clean energy project.

Once delivered, the turbines will be installed on 80m tubular steel towers in County Clare on Ireland’s west coast.

Besides, Invis Energy signed a premium service contract with Nordex Group to service the turbines for a period of 15 years.

In November last year, Nordex Group has won an order to supply and install turbines to the 33.1MW ‘Castlepook’ wind farm located in Ballyhoura Forest in County Cork, Ireland.

Planned to be jointly owned and developed by Electricity Supply Board (ESB) and Coillte, the wind firm will feature 14 N90/2500 wind turbines with a 125m tip height.

Currently, Nordex Group has installed more than 21GW of wind energy capacity in over 25 markets worldwide.
