Duke Energy Renewables has purchased two solar photovoltaic (PV) development projects in the US from Australian renewable power projects developer Infigen Energy.

Once completed, the two projects Wildwood I and Pumpjack that are under development in California will have a total generation capacity of 40MW.

The projects are said to be ready for construction with secure electricity transmission connection agreements and 20-year power purchase agreements with Southern California Edison.

Infigen claims that the two solar PV projects could be built under the multi-stage development mode within California.

According to Infigen, the amounts receivable from the sale of the solar projects include fees for development and construction management services to be provided by the company.

Infigen US CEO Craig Carson said the experience gained and the relationships created on these first solar projects would deliver significant benefits for the company’s future development opportunities.

"The acquisition of Pumpjack and Wildwood almost doubles our solar power capacity in California," Carson added.

Besides, Infigen owns the 15MW Wildwood II, 20MW Rio Bravo and 20MW Rio Bravo II solar projects located adjacent to the Wildwood I and Pumpjack projects.
