Alstom has commenced construction on the 90MW Lotnisko wind farm, located in Kopaniewo, Poland.

The company has secured a contract from PGE Capital in June 2014 to supply, install and commission 30 ECO 110 3MW wind turbines for the project.

The turbines will have a 110m diameter rotor, 90m high steel tower and a SCADA2 remote control system.

Scope of the contract also includes the provision of operations and maintenance for the project over a period of two years.

Construction on the wind farm is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2015.

The Lotnisko wind farm is considered to be the largest investment made by PGE Capital in the renewable energies field.

The facility forms part of PGE’s strategy to reach about 234MW of power from wind projects by 2016. The company currently has more than 300MW wind power installed capacity.
