ACME Solar has started commercial operations at its 25MW solar power plant located at Khilchipur in Madhya Pradesh, India.

With the commissioning of the new power plant, the company’s electricity generation capacity has reached to 42.5MW in the country.

As per the power purchase agreement signed with MP Power Management Company in October 2012, the electricity generated at the plant will be supplied to the state through a 132kV transmission line linked to a project site.

According to ACME Solar, the new power plant has been commissioned within a period of 150 days beginning from foundation stone laying for electricity generation.

The plant, which features solar PV technology, is equipped with over 1,65,000 solar modules mounted on steel structures, which are erected on concrete foundations.

ACME Group chairman Manoj Kumar Upadhyay said, "With partners like EDF EN and EREN, ACME Solar will be at the forefront of serving the nation through higher uptake of renewable energy in the country."
