Cypress Creek Renewables and Meta have signed a renewable energy agreement, enabling the construction of a 505MWdc or 396MWac solar facility in Texas, US.
This Environmental Attribute Purchase Agreement (EAPA) is part of Meta’s objective to power its operations with 100% renewable energy.
The new Hanson Solar facility will be located in Coleman County, Texas, and will be owned and operated by Cypress Creek.
Meta head of global energy Urvi Parekh said: “We are thrilled to collaborate with Cypress Creek Renewables to bring solar energy to the grid in Texas – and support our operations in the region with clean and renewable energy. We look forward to this project becoming operational.”
Once operational, the project will supply electricity to the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) grid, enhancing reliability while supporting Meta’s renewable energy goals, the energy company said.
Hanson Solar is projected to generate over $80m in local tax revenue and create more than 300 jobs during its construction phase, which is slated to begin later this year. Operations are expected to commence in 2027.
Since its founding in 2014, Cypress Creek has commercialised 12GW of solar projects and currently owns more than 2GW of solar capacity. Its pipeline includes more than 20GW of solar and storage projects.
The company’s operations and maintenance services business, Cypress Creek Solutions, manages over 4GW of solar projects across 24 states.

Last month, Meta entered four EAPAs with Zelestra, formerly known as Solarpack, for the construction of solar projects in Texas. The sites aim to enhance the tech company’s commitment to sustainability and clean energy utilisation.
