CHINT group subsidiary Astronergy has entered into a supply contract with Atlas Renewable Energy for 80MW PV modules.
The solar modules are for an 80MW Sol do Futuro solar power project located in Aquiraz, in the state of Ceará, Brazil, which is being developed by Atlas Renewable Energy and slated for delivery by the second quarter of 2018.
Astronergy CEO Dr Lu, Chuan said: “With the Belt and Road Initiative and the promising global solar market, we are paying more attention to emerging markets in South America, especially Brazil.
“Atlas is quite professional in developing PV projects and we would like to establish a long-term and strategic partnership with them.”
The Brazilian Government has set a target to increase the installed PV capacity in the country from 2015 to 2024 by 67GW.
