ABB will offer a microgrid solution to the Energy Storage for Commercial Renewable Integration (ESCRI) project in South Australia.
The solution will link the ABB Ability PowerStore 30MW battery energy storage solution to the Electranet transmission system
ABB Ability PowerStore will be installed at the Dalrymple substation, Yorke Peninsula.
The solution will enable the ESCRI project to bolster the power grid and the overall reliability of power supplies.
In addition to it, the solution will offer fast-acting power response and additional market services, which will help to balance the network on daily basis whilst supporting power transfer with the interconnectors in Victoria.
During a power outage, the microgrid solution will work with 90MW Wattle Point wind farm and rooftop solar PVs to supply power until grid connection is restored.
