A total of 46 deals worth $967.57m were announced in January 2020, compared to the 12-month average of 50 deals.
M&A was the leading category in the month in terms of volume with 24 deals which accounted for 52.2% of all deals.
In second place was venture financing with 15 deals, followed by private equity with seven transactions, respectively accounting for 32.6% and 15.2% of overall deal activity in the country's power industry during the month.

2) The $300m private equity deal with Scale Microgrid Solutions by Warburg Pincus
3) Denham Capital Management's $250m private equity deal with Ceiba Energy
4) The $12.7m asset transaction with Township of Long Hill by New Jersey American Water
5) Collaborative Fund, Comcast Ventures, Ground Up Ventures, GV Management Co, Lennar and New Enterprise Associates’ venture financing of Dandelion Energy for $12m.
