Description

The project is being developed by Compagnie Geneerale d’Hydroelectricite de Volobe. Jovena, Africa50 Infrastructure Fund, SN Power and Colas are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 40%, 25%, 25% and 10% respectively.

Volobe HPP is a run-of-river project. The gross head of the project will be 136m. The project is expected to generate 750 GWh of electricity.

Contractors involved

Andritz Hydro will be the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company is expected to provide 6 units of francis turbines, each with 20MW nameplate capacity.
