Tarapur 3 is a Generation II nuclear reactor developed by Nuclear Power Corporation of India, the main contractor for the project.

The reactor system was supplied by Nuclear Power Corporation of India. The reactor vessel have been supplied by Larsen & Toubro Ltd and Walchandnagar Industries. The material used for the construction of the vessel is Stainless Steel (SS 304L).
