Renewable energy manufacturer Gamesa has won two turbine contracts for 260MW of wind power projects in India.
The first contract signed with Greenko is for 160MW, according to which Gamesa has to supply, install, and commission 80 of its G97-2MW turbines for wind power developments in the country.
The deal represents first phase of a new framework agreement between the two firms, which has provision for 300MW wind energy projects.
30 of the new deliveries will be installed at the Jaisalmer region in Rajasthan and the remaining 50 will be set up at Basavanabagewadi in Karnataka.
Gamesa is also responsible for operations and maintenance of the facilities, after both the firms are commissioned by June 2015.
The Spanish firm is expected to make the turbine deliveries by the initial quarter of the year.
