Following completion, the project is expected to generate enough electricity to power at least 30,000 homes in Norway.

Technology firm Google has agreed to purchase the power generated from the wind farm for its data centres across Europe.

As per a long-term agreement, Siemens will operate and service the wind turbines.

Among the services to be provided by Siemens comprise remote diagnostic services, predictive maintenance planning by finding possible issues before they affect operations.

Siemens Wind Power and Renewables Division Onshore CEO Thomas Richterich said: “Technology companies such as Google are increasingly covering their rising energy demands with clean wind power.

“We are proud to be part of this development with our direct drive technology. Tellenes will also be one of the largest onshore wind projects in Norway.”
