Notably, energy transition was one of the most frequently referenced themes in Q1 2024, ranking highest in terms of mentions, ahead of mobile and renewable energy, according to GlobalData.
Of the top leading companies in the power industry, E.ON had the greatest increase in references for energy transition in Q1 2024, compared with the previous quarter. GlobalData identified 668 energy transition-related sentences in the company's filings - 10% of all sentences - and an increase of 9% in Q1 2024 compared with Q1 2023. Orsted’s mentions of energy transition dropped by 4% to 551 and Fortum’s by 18% to 503 and AES’s by 7% to 326 and Avangrid’s by 5% to 308.
