Description
The project is being developed and currently owned by Punatsangchhu Hydroelectric Project Authority.
Punatsangchhu-I is a run-of-river project. The gross head and net head of the project will be 357m and 343m respectively. The total number of penstocks, pipes or long channels that carry water down from the hydroelectric reservoir to the turbines inside the actual power station, is expected to be 6 in number. The penstock diameter will be 3.32m. The project is expected to generate 5,700 GWh of electricity.

The project construction is expected to commence from 2008. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2025.
