Description

The project was developed by Acciona Energia and Avenir Solar Energy Chile. The project is currently owned by Acciona Energia with a stake of 100%.

El Romero Solar PV Park is a ground-mounted solar project which is spread over an area of 280 hectares.

The project generates 493GWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 240,000 households, offsetting 473,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

Development status

The project got commissioned in November 2016.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Alphabet under a power purchase agreement for a period of 13 years from 2017. The contracted capacity is 80MW.

Contractors involved

Acciona Energia was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the solar PV power project.

The solar PV modules for the project were supplied by Hareon Solar Technology and JA Solar Holdings.

ABB supplied 180 of its PVS800 inverters to the project site.

The project is utilising trackers supplied by STI Norland.
